Cadets have been in existence in Australia since the first unit was established in 1866, at St Mark's Collegiate School, NSW. This unit subsequently became the King's School Cadet Corps in 1869.
During the period 1949-51, the title 'Australian Cadet Corps' [ACC] was officially adopted and the khaki beret was introduced as part of the uniform. Cadet Units with an approved unit badge wore the badge on berets and ‘slouch hats’. This khaki beret was worn c.1984.

• A Combined Catholic College Cadet Unit, Rockhampton hat/beret badge. The badge is two-piece construction with silver and gold anodised components measuring 43 mm in height. The pins on the reverse are intact and secure.
